一、有關茲卡病毒感染症之傳染途徑主要經由斑蚊叮咬造成疾病傳播，常為無症狀或輕症感染，調查發現可透過性行為、輸血及母子垂直感染造成疾病傳播。近期證據顯示懷孕期間感染茲卡病毒與新生兒小頭症具有強烈相關性，孕婦及新生兒為感染茲卡病毒之高風險族群。
二、目前流行地區有中南美洲、加勒比海地區、馬爾地夫及泰國，其旅遊疫情建議為第二級(警示)；東南亞柬埔寨、印尼、馬來西亞、菲律賓及非洲加彭旅遊疫情建議為第一級(注意)，疾管署建議如非必要應暫緩前往流行地區。
