一、 本競賽係由教育部指導，本館與教育部潔能系統整合與應用人才培育計畫辦公室共同主辦，以潔淨及創新能源、儲能、能源有效化利用、綠能循環經濟、節能等與「能源科技」相關為設計主題，邀請全國國中學生組隊參加，希望發揮團隊想像力提出具體的創作設計作品，在生活中確實展開珍惜能源、愛護環境的行動。
二、 本年度競賽可跨校組隊參加，優勝者將獲頒教育部獎狀、獎盃及獎金，獎金最高3萬元。
